Feedback from a participant
on a STEPS course at HMP Cardiff on 14/09/05
The statement is probably
the most important one that I or you will ever read. It's taken
me half of my adult life to realize it. I have always thought
of myself as someone in charge of his own life and destiny,
but I wasn't. I just thought I was. Because I had
not clear goals or set plans for the future, I created my own
life that didn't require much effort to maintain. All
I had been told at school that the future is what you make it
but I just took life for granted. If I got a job I got
a job, if didn't I didn't. Up to the present day I never
really had a goal that I tried to visualize until I met
someone who was this trainer. Taking part in the STEPS
course has made me put into practice something I have always
had the ability to do but never put into practice. If
I had just been given a folder full of questions and answers
I still would have the same outlook on life, to carry on as
norm, don't rock the boat in other words put a block on my imagination.
The trainer has set an example to us all that you can achieve
your goal by being polite. She puts things over in a way
that you want to ask questions, and you want to learn, and you
want to put this knowledge into practice. It also makes
you step back and look at your whole life and see how different
it could have been. But more it teaches you how different
it can be. This course will change your life because I
want it to because every session has been made interesting thanks
to the trainer. Because of her fastidiousness and zeal
and also her belief in what she teaches, I have a solid base
on which to build my future.
Thank you to the trainer
and Lou Tice.
